This summer, my wife, Renee Brame, got to spend a week in Amherst, Massachussets, studying the life and work Emily Dickinson. She got to go because she wrote a fantastic essay and won a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, a similar award that sent me to Yale in the summer of 2010 to study the Canterbury Tales. I'm hoping to convince her to write a guest post for this blog. We'll see how that goes.
