All Men Have Secrets, and Here Is Mine

I don't think I'm going to be able to finish this book.

I'm 80 pages into Morrissey's autobiography (which I bought from the U.K. before it was released here in the states) and I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to finish it. I find it surprising humorless, with way too many references to British TV shows that I've never heard of. He writes with long, tiring paragraphs, and often I find that I'm clueless about what he is talking about.

Here's a flyer for Morrissey karaoke night at the Ottobar in Baltimore in April of 2000. I sang "The Boy With a Thorn in His Side," badly.

  1. No! It's that bad? Bummer. It sounds like you need more than five seconds to spare to get the story of Morrissey's life. I wanted to read this, but it just moved a little lower on my list of priorities.

    1. I'd hate to make you prejudiced against it, though! Give it a shot yourself. Maybe I'm just in a reading rut. Maybe I just haven't earned it yet, baby.
