Today is My Last Day At MASE

I've been teaching at the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering since the fall of 2006, and today is my last day.

In the six years I was at MASE, I taught 8th grade writing, 12th grade English, AP Language and Composition, 11th grade English, mythology, creative writing, and probably a class or two I've forgotten. I've worked with hundreds of fantastic kids and presided over approximately 5400 class periods.

Here are some photos and a video of my days at MASE, in chronological order.  Bye!

  3. This summer I will be taking it easy and getting ready to teach AP Literature at Margolin Hebrew Academy in the fall. And, of course, keeping an eye on the Pirates. Thanks for the comment!

  6. Hi Mr.Brame. I'm sorry that there will be no more years at MASE for you; however, I am glad you will be happy. :) I have missed you so much at White Station. My english teacher there was absolutely horrible! I mean, she gave me a F for wearing Chuck Taylors during my persentation which she even clapped for and said, "I really enjoyed that!" Seriously? Anyway, I'm glad that I can finally contact you. I Hope you enjoy your summer! :)

  7. Autumn:

So nice to hear from you! I'm sure you are in good hands with the teachers at White Station, even if they disagree with your choice of footwear. Do be in touch, and have a great summer.

  8. Thank you! I'm planning on going back to MASE though. I'm so sick of White Station. Thanks for the kind words anyway. This summer I plan on selling cookies, reading Roots, and reading Pride and Prejudice for school. Anyway, thanks for responding! :)

  9. Pride and Prejudice, huh? What a coincidence--that's what I'm reading next. Believe it or not, I've made it this long in my life without having read it, but that's about to change. I've ordered my copy and everything.

I hope you sell lots of cookies. Find me on facebook or twitter or drop me a line at aaronbrame at g mail dott com.

  10. Congratulations, Aaron.

I'm sure you've left a positive impression on countless of kids. (Even if you never assigned Jack Finney's Invasion of the Body Snatchers as a book report.)

  12. Mr Brame
I don't know what brought me to your blog. maybe extreme boredom and that fact that it is 1:30 in the morning, but I didn't know you were leaving MASE. You were one of the best teachers at that school and I'm grateful that I had the privilege of taking you twice. Im at UTK now and it's awesome. I'm majoring in anthropology which is really more interesting than I thought it would be! But, anyway, I hope you go on to become even better at what you do and impact other kids' lives as you did the halls of MASE and me.

PS you were always my fav teacher! haha.
