Going Back to Black and White

I'm pretty good at making black and white prints in a darkroom.  In Photoshop, not so much.

I learned photography in a darkroom, making black and white prints under a safelight.  I tried to re-capture that skill in Photoshop, but I didn't really have much success.  My blacks are never black enough; my whites not white enough.  Luckily I came across the help of Pioneer Woman's Photoshop Actions, and my color pictures are slowly resembling the prints I used to churn out in the old darkroom in my house.  You should follow that link to download your own actions and figure it out yourself.

Here are a few examples of what I have been able to produce with Photoshop Elements.
